Call for Proposals | Issue 27 (2028) | Deadline: 8 November 2026
Linguistica Antverpiensia, New Series – Themes in Translation Studies (LANS–TTS) has announced a call for proposals for its 27th thematic issue, scheduled for publication in December 2028.
The annual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal, published by the University of Antwerp, focuses on research in Translation and Interpreting Studies. The journal is indexed in the Web of Science and welcomes diverse approaches to translation and interpreting, viewing translation as a dynamic form of communication embedded in the social and cultural contexts in which it takes place.
Call for Thematic Issue Proposals
LANS–TTS publishes one guest-edited thematic issue each year rather than maintaining an open or continuously published issue. For Issue 27, prospective guest editors are invited to submit proposals outlining a distinctive and internationally relevant theme within Translation and Interpreting Studies.
The journal’s editorial board will shortlist proposals based on their originality, international relevance, innovativeness and distinctiveness from previous thematic issues.
Prospective guest editors should consult the journal’s archive and previous announcements when developing their proposals.
What the Proposal Should Include
Each proposal must contain five elements:
- Names and affiliations of the proposed guest editors
- Title and presentation of the proposed theme, comprising a general description followed by specific research topics and/or research questions. The presentation should be 500–1,000 words.
- Working reference list following APA 7th edition.
- Motivation of no more than 500 words, explaining the theme’s originality and its relevance to Translation and Interpreting Studies more broadly.
- Guest editors’ track records in the relevant research domain(s), including evidence of their academic achievements, credentials and expertise.
Evaluation Process
Proposals will be considered at the journal’s annual editorial board meeting, which normally takes place in November.
The editorial board may:
- Accept the proposal without modifications;
- Accept the proposal subject to suggested modifications; or
- Reject the proposal.
Successful proposals will subsequently form the basis for a call for abstracts for the thematic issue.
