Xanthos: A Journal of Foreign Literatures and Languages
Xanthos: A Journal of Foreign Literatures and Languages is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, academic journal based within the University of Exeter in Exeter, UK.
Following the success of our inagural issue, we welcome submissions for our second annual issue, to be published in summer 2020.
We invite contributions that draw on (but are not limited to) literary theory and criticism, comparative literature, reception studies, philosophy and literature, translation studies, and linguistics.
We are particularly interested in submissions that are interdisciplinary in nature, and which bring language research into dialogue with historical, philosophical, economic, and political questions.
Xanthos also welcomes translations from foreign languages into English, particularly texts which have not been previously published in English.
Contributions should be accompanied by a 200-word abstract and a brief biography.
Submissions should be written in English, be between 5,000 and 8,000 words in length, and follow MHRA style.
